Reading Programs

Alpha Park Library has compiled a list of Reading Programs for your students available throughout the year. Links are provided throughout each section. 

All Year Long:

  • BOOK IT! Homeschool - Program Dates: October-March. Open to homeschool families with PreK-6th grade students (ages 4-12). Parents set goals, track reading, and reward their students in their digital dashboards.
  • BOOK IT! @ SchoolProgram Dates: October-March. Open to PreK-6th teachers at public, private, and charter schools. Each teacher enrolls their class to participate.
  • Chuck E. Cheese Reading RewardsOpen to all ages; redeem the certificate and get 10 FREE Play Points with any food purchase at your local Chuck E. Cheese. 
  • Panda Express: Read with Me Program - If you are an organization that has education-based programs for children, you are eligible to sign up. Recommended best for elementary school students who are reading, typically grades Pre-K/TK - 5th grade (ages 5-11).

Only During the Summer:

  • Camp BOOK IT! - Program Dates: June - August. Open to all families with PreK-6th grade students (ages 4-12). Parents set goals, track reading, and reward their students in their digital dashboards.
  • Barnes & Noble: Summer Reading Program Program Dates: June - August. Open to students in 1st through 6th Grade.  Students read 8 books during the summer and record them in their Summer Reading Journal. Then write which part of the book was their favorite and why. Students can then choose a free book at Barnes & Noble from a curated list. 
  • Half Price Books: Summer Reading Camp - Program Dates: June - July. Open to students aged 0 to 12.
  • Reading is Fundamental: Summer Reading - Program Dates: May - September. RIF's Summer of Action-Packed Pages Coming May 2027
