Upcoming Adult Programs

General Services Offered

Printing, Scanning, Copying, & Faxing:

We provide a self-service black & white photocopier for patrons to use, as well as color copying available upon request. Patrons can print documents from the public computers. Black and white copies cost 20 cents per page, while color copies cost 50 cents per page. We also have two self-service document scanners available to use for free. Faxes may be sent by the staff at the Circulation Desk for $1 per page for the first ten pages, and then 10 cents for every subsequent page.

Notary Service :

We generally have a staff Notary working between the hours of 9 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday – Friday, but please call 309-697-3822 first to make sure they're available before you arrive. Bring your unsigned document along with a valid form of ID.

Reader's Advisory

Need help finding your next book? The Reference Department is happy to help. We can help you find more books from authors that you already love, or discover authors you haven't tried yet. You can also fill out our  Book Match Form at the desk or online to find new reads!

Technology Questions:

Have you found yourself with a device or tech item, and aren't sure how to use it? Come to the library and ask the reference desk, and we will help you with your device as best as we are able. Call 309-697-3822 x13 to set up an appointment.

General Reference Questions:

Do you have a question that's been bugging you? Stop in to the library or give us a call at 309-697-3822 x13. We can help you find the answers. Librarians have been finding information for people for longer than Google!

FOID Card Applications:

Alpha Park Library is one of the few places in Bartonville that still provides assistance with the Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card application and renewal process. While APL is in no way associated with the Illinois State Police, we can assist patrons with their FOID Applications, including printing or taking the required application photo.

Cross Stitch Corner

Whether you have been cross stitching for years or have never picked up a needle before, anyone interested in cross stitch is welcome to attend Cross Stitch Corner.  This year we are working on a Bookshelf Stitch-a-long! At the end of 2025 we distributed the Bookshelf frame to get everyone started. Starting in January we will start releasing new parts of the pattern everymonth. Each month is inspired by a different genre of fiction, and you have a few possibilities to choose from that month.

If you are a beginner, we have people who are happy to teach you! We will continue to have a small selection of basic patterns to help you learn.

If you already have a project you are working on you are welcome to bring that as well.  Come socialize, trade tips and tricks, and show off your work! This program takes place on the 1st Wednesday of every month from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM.

All of our patterns are designed by APL Staff. Physical copies are available during Cross Stitch Corner, but you can find digital copies here. We even provide copies that are compatible with the Pattern Keeper app.
