Policies and Procedures

Alpha Park Public Library has numerous policies regarding our services and materials. Here you will find basic information about how to get a library card, along with checkout periods for different library materials, from books to DVDs to much, much more. Also on this page are policies that affect the public, the staff, and the Board of Trustees. Additionally, the Board’s by-laws and standing rules of order (procedures) are featured among the other policies.

Your Library Card

An Alpha Park Public Library card is issued to any resident living within District boundaries who presents proper identification showing current address. Parental signature is required for patrons under age 14. Cardholders may borrow items from all area libraries, check out equipment from the library, and access certain online databases. Patrons do not need a library card to use library facilities, use computers, or participate in library programs.

Persons who live in an area that is not served by a public library, and for whom Alpha Park is the closest library, may purchase a non-resident card. The current charge is $157.35 per year. For further information, please email the circulation department.
