Welcome to Alpha Park Public Library’s Stories from the Bowen Building: A Podcast on the Peoria State Hospital. This series on the history of the Peoria State Hospital in Bartonville, Illinois, discusses the closing of the hospital and its effect on the patients, staff, and community. We speak to historians, museum directors, and staff from the hospital. Special guests include former staff members Dr. James Ward, Dr. James Flanigan, Beveryly Ward, Connie Dean, Evelyn Stafford, Beverly Grimes, and Bill Turner.
